I am one of the proud.
I am an author. I am a writer. I am a woman. I am a mother. I am me.
I am proud to be me.
I make decisions that I am not proud of but I am proud to be me.
I allow people in my life that I am not proud of but I am proud to be me.
I am a victim of acts that I am not proud of but I am proud to be me.
I am affected. I am enraged. I am planning. I am thinking. I am infuriated. I am confused. I am hurt. I am not on my knees in despair but in preparation for the next move.
The pride that I carry is not connected to labels, stereotypes, or prejudices. My pride comes from within. I know who I am. I am not who this world tells me that I should be. I am not a shell pulled from a mold and filled with society. I am me. I take pride in being me. I accept me. I appreciate me. I love me. I cherish me. I support me. I believe in me. I will not allow anyone to take my pride in me away.
